The 奥克兰 大学 AAPI and LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Groups (ERG) are partnering to bring renowned writer, 柯蒂斯的下巴, to campus on Wednesday, 11月. 8.
Chin will discuss his memoir, “Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant,” in which he talks about growing up in Detroit in the 80’s, 出来, and balancing life in the restaurant and the Chinatown community in Detroit.

关于Curtis chin
A co-founder of the Asian American Writer’s Workshop in New York City, Chin served as the non-profit’s first executive director. He went on to write for network and cable television before transitioning to social justice documentaries.
Chin has screened his films at over 600 venues in 16 countries. He has written for CNN, Bon Appetit, the Detroit Free Press, and the Emancipator/Boston Globe.
A graduate of the 大学 of Michigan, Chin has received awards from ABC/Disney Television, New York Foundation for the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, 和更多的. His essay in Bon Appetit was recently selected for Best Food Writing in America 2023.
